Steering wheel controls

Hi all,

My buttons at the side of my steering wheel (volume control, cruise control etc) are a bit stiff when you press them. I'm guessing they're getting a bit grubby behind the buttons and it's restricting them so was wondering if the side control bits come off easily so I can take them apart to clean the buttons and make them nice & smooth again.

Any ideas?

I'd be a bit unsure and worried about removing the airbag.

Is it easy?
