Advice on wheels for rr sport pls

Ive been googling and generally looking around and Im in a quandry over two things;

should I get rid of my 22" copycat super seven overfinch style wheels and tyres and buy some "decent" 20" wheels, i.e. Hawke Chayton or used but good condition Land rover wheels.

will the smaller wheels really make a difference to the ride, im afraid of spending the money and ending up not really noticing the difference.

England

I fit 19" in winter and 20" rest of year and the ride is noticeably better on the 19" and that is only 1" difference - changing from 22" to 20" must be massive improvement with 2" difference but not having tried it I can't say for sure but makes sense Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

i ve just changed fron 20 to 22 and the ride is a little harder so the other way round you may notice a little difference. I'm on hawke wheels and they are well made.

thanks muddywheels, yes it makes sense.
im also concerned about the look and general quality. TBH i think the big silver ones i have on, combined with the HST bodykit, make the car look a bit like a HUMMER Sad but the missus likes bling.

maybe I'l post a pic for general advice.
