I know it's a pretty stupid question but I tried using it today, hen I press the econ button the air coming out of the vents is not chilled when I just have the temp setting at minimum (blue dot) the air is colder but still does not feel like air con. Any advice?

So to activate the ac the temp dial should be on the blue spot?

The system is climate control not "air con"

Therefore you set the internal temp of the car (in both zones) and the car decides if it needs to use the air conditioning compressor to artificially cool the air or not.

if you set your temp to 20 degs and it's 21 outside, you'll get a little bit of cooled air...if you change it to 16 then yes it'll blast ice cold air till you get to 16 degs in the car  RRS gone

If you want to save the planet (and why would you driving a RRS) then you could select the econ button, which isolates the air con function totally... giving better mpg, lower emissions and a hot stuffy driver  RRS gone

Don't know if it's the same for MY10 onwards but on 05-09 when the "Eco" mode is off your air con is working. It will then cool the air according to your temp settings on the dials.

Ok makes sense. Thanks for all the info guys. I think my car might just need a regas.

I was just a bit confused as this is my first car without a specific air con button.

Also bear in mind it also dehumidifies which keeps all the electronics dry. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Hi,

Just re-visiting this point...

So when I turn both temp dials to the lowest setting i.e the blue dot - should that automatically kick in the fan blowers?

Especially like today when the outside temp is 24C...

My fans don't automatically kick in and the air blowing is not icy cold?

Any thoughts?
