5.0 S/C Tuning

Hi guys, I can find very little info on this. I have the over finch exhaust on & want a little more power, whats the general direction?

Thanks in advance

Paul

I'm interested in this as well
I presume the trick is to follow the Jaguar route
Many change the upper pulley with a generic remap
I'm more interested in pulley, exhaust, sport cats, maybe headers, then a custom tune (retaining the knock control)

Try JE Engineering at Coventry. They map to 545.

Thanks guys, due to the sheer lack of info on this I spent a good while getting more info together.

Miley, you are pretty much correct, in the end DMS did the upper pulley & put a tune on it. I then did the Overfinch exhaust with oem tailpipes. So happy with the car now, no idea on power but it's silly for such a big motor!

Good news
Does the overfinch exhaust make any difference to the cats?

No mate, it purely replaces the centre sections & rear. The only place I can find cats are from supersprint but don't really think it will make a huge difference?

im considering having the remap and pulley done too ,do you know if it affects reliability ? and has it made much of a difference to the fuel consumption ?

I have not read any reports of belt shredding on the jag side of things or anywhere, I will just wait & see, if she goes, she goes.

Car will do about 5k a year tops so not bothered about fuel but figure it's about the same but obv. when you go faster, it's not as good.

I have done over 1000 miles on this conversion now, I am still speechless as to how fast it is (for a big car)!

MPG seems unchanged, 20/21 cruising at 80 & 8-16 when pushing on.

The exhaust is also great (over finch) but the fitment is the worst on any system I have ever seen

Thumbs Up

Hi mate, brilliant news, speak to Tony there, he looked after me, so it was not just me who had issues with the exhaust then, it's really wobbly still, but will do for now, mine seems to have settled with a good few miles under it's belt took, really pops & bangs coming down the revs doesn't it!

Honestly you will not believe how well she goes once that map & pulley is on!

alright paul ,i rang dms and they quoted 1450 + vat for remap and pulley and that was coming to my house to fit it
yeah the garage said the exhaust was a nightmare to fit but its well worth it ,its worth taking it through a tunnel or underground carpark its unreal haha ,ive got a tvr cerbera which is decatted and with sports pipes and its nearly as loud as that Laughing

Hi mate, did you ever get this done?

Mine's got almost 6k miles on the car now & feels like she's getting run in. Also, as the weather if a little colder now, it also helps the SC keep it's power so she's feeling very fit!

I still cannot get over how quick it is.

I had a VERY steady drive back from Brands Hatch at the weekend & got 20mpg out of her all the way, not that I really care but thats pretty decent.
