Tyre Pressure

Hi
Can anyone advise on what tyre pressure is required for 5 spoke 20" alloys with Pirelli Scorpion tyres.

The ride appears hard and bumpy when they are filled to 36psi all around, i have looked at the plate and it only advises on 19" tyres and on these it recommends 60psi!!!!! which i find unbelievable.

Any advice warmly welcomed

I run the same wheels and tyres as you at 34psi all-round.

In theory (but I wouldn't worry unduly) your are supposed to maintain your tyre pressures within 10% (I think) of manufacturers' recommendations. It would only become relevant if you were unfortunate to be involved in an accident and the police conducted a detailed inspection and your insurers might try and slip their responsibility by claiming you had not kept your car in 'roadworthy' condition.

Thanks for the replies, although I am still not convinced as to the quality of the ride, maybe it's the potholes everywhere that are making things seem worse.
I have the issue of two of my alloys being badly dented on the inside rim due to hitting craters in the road, which is what made me think that the tyre pressure may need to be increased.

So, 36psi it is then, just going to have to like it or lump it !

Once again thanks to those that replied.
