WHICH TYRES are best for me?

I am about to replace the tyres of my 2006 Sport. Can anyone advice me of the make/model tyre that is considered to give most silent ride. I have Continantals on at the moment and I find them a bit noisy. Andrew Kennedy

Depends on how you intend to use them - on/off road, winter, etc Confused

I changed from Conti to Pirelli Scorpions and been very happy with them but have fitted some Conti Winters this year for the arctic storm we never got Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I use the Pirelli Assimetricos (they're now replaced by the Verde - I think) great tyres for all round use. It has a reasonable tread pattern and I found it good in wet fields etc. yet quiet on motorways etc.

I've got mine on 19" wheels via Amazon at £170 a tyre delivered - they do also come in 20".

I found the General Grabber GT. To be a great tyre on my previous sport. My current one has Toyo Proxes T1 sports and again they are very good and both are sensibly priced Thumbs Up MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

Mine came with Brand new Nexens when I bought it, they were very slippery in the wet so I would not touch them again. Have Toyos on now and the grip is very impressive. I always used to run Bridgestones on my X5 and they gave me 30k miles with great performance so if you are running standard size and are looking for more of a road tyre that could be worth a look if they do the correct size.

As others have said it really comes down to what you want to use it for, I have always been of the opinion that tyres and brakes are two of the things you should never scrimp on, they hold you to the road and make you stop so an extra 50 quid for premium over budget is money well spent. TDV8 Java Black, Overfinch 22s
