You will have a slight change in rolling radius i.e. 45% of 275 compared to 40% of 275 e.g. about 13mm bigger radius, raising the gearing which will make your speedo read slow.

Could be classed as a modification because its a size not recommended by LR so, being picky, you'd need to inform your insurers and/or warranty company if you have one.

I replaced mine with 275/45x20s in order to give a marginally smoother ride. I found the 40's were too firm a ride.
As far as speedo error is concerned mine seems more accurate now at 30'ish mph (according to the 'smily face' speed detectors).
I had my tyres fitted at my LR dealer when it was in for a service & MOT. The workshop foreman said there would be no problems with fitting or warranty. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

I have recently fitted 4 Kumho 275/45/20s to my RRS and am very happy with the results. As Russben says, the ride has improved and also the steering feels more positive than on the previous continentals 275/40s. No issues with rubbing anywhere Thumbs Up

The pics in my gallery on the stormers were with 275/40 and the grey wheels 275/45s. (however now the 275/45s are back on the stormers Thumbs Up
