Brake pad sensor - how long before i need to change?

Hi folks,

Sorry for the question but i've searched and couldn't find the answer.

My brake pad sensor has just come on on Sunday, but i'm not going to get a chance to change the pads until the weekend. Is there likely to be a bit of life left in the pads still (5% or so) or do i need to take it off the road and not drive it again until i've swapped?

Cheers
Chris

Ive drove mine for 2 weeks i think nearly with light on... lasts a while.. didnt have any metal to metal sounds... just let off throttle sooner and brake lightly or down change gears etc

you can do another couple of thousand miles, but you will not be able to reuse your brake pad sensor as it will wear out. so that will be another item to be replaced
