Fixing broken buttons

A couple of the numerical buttons on my dash have broken! The ones used for selecting radio channels etc

I enquired to see if I could buy replacement buttons on their own - but the response was I could only buy a complete new panel!

So, I've drawn a replacement insert for the back of the button on the CAD, intending to 3D Print it.

I'll let you know how it goes - and once it works, if any of you would like the STL file (or the original Solidworks model) PM me with a real email address and it's yours.

I've drawn the part with two prongs which push the actual switch. The button caps just have one, but which side varies depending on the button. The idea is just to cut off whichever one is not required. My intention is to hollow out all the ribs & stuff from the original cap, just leaving a 5 sided box. The insert will then glue in place inside leaving the middle hollow so the legend will still illuminate.

Si
