06 4.2 S/C MPG PROBLEM

I am not that worried about the mpg really but the last 3/4 weeks its been deadly shes just turned 80,000 and due a service but shes been drinking double the amount.
Would a service really help her that much please help any advice would be grateful to solve this problem

Ok then, i'll give you an answer... Yes a service should help the mpg especially if the oil in your motor is really old and seriously mucky, mention the poor mpg at the service dept and they will check over a few things for you. Your air filter for example might be blocked but i'm sure they will inspect it for you. Thumbs Up

Thanks lol oil was changed 15k ago air filter i replaced last week i just dont understand.
A mate was saying there was a problem in the valves they were roasting themselves and led to higher mpg etc

Had mine 3 years - ave 13 .2 - I use Shell Nitro fuel & serviced as per schedules. Mostly driven with care Whistle
Can get upto 22mpg on good journeys but Censored life's too short Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Average 17.6mpg in my S/C - Two thirds motorway use to one third "around town".

Overall about 8k annually.

Same as Peachy at 22mpg on a run.

yup average between 12-14/15ish mpg normal and once when the gods were looking down and feeling generous with a hurricane of a tail w
ind going down a 45degree incline with just me in the car after a big poo so i was lighter i once got 20mpg only the dead truely know peace,
Bootneck its not a job its a way of life!

these are all around my figures... not been on the motorway for a few weeks so currently sitting at 13.2mpg average ! Why?.. Because i can....

Smart car 0.7 61 hp Carbon offset
Sierra cosworth 2.0 350 hp GONE

Just took her for a run she's jumping between 8.8-10.6 around the roads in a rural town

The wife used to get 350-400 outta a full tank now its 150-200

Just back from the Mechanic there seems to be a vacum leak somewhere round the drivers side head
