My driveway slopes down slightly and i parked the front of my car inwards giving full access to under the rear of my car! Nice easy one for them! They got away with a 20" supercharged wheel Rolling Eyes WINNER - 2009 Best in Class Range Rover Sport Award

While RLD is a good deterrent, even that probably doesn't guarantee 100% protection if the scum is really determined. I would start parking the rear of the car close to a wall wherever possible, in addition to fitting RLD. Just make access a tad more difficult for them.

Isnt there a post on here about one not saving the wheel? Mike

Wasn't an RLD one, but a similar idea.
As fkarim says, if they want in they'll take it anyway Sad I think the protectors just stop the 'opportunist'. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Yes was it a rimmer bros one.

The redesigned one might save opportunists...as might a bike chain around the chassis! Mike

Mine spare is a pressed steel one and 19 inch to boot when car supplied on 20's. Thumbs Up to land rover. Never even lowered mine! Still a pain in the a**e and expensive to replace. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

I can't see a way to defeat the RLD, without using power tools, and about an hour

I'd like a 'protector' that also came out around and was dished enough to partly cover the tyre - then any opportunist would see it a move on to easier pickings - keep some of the crud off the spare as well.

Only know about one attempted theft of a wheel fitted with RLD's device... and RLD's device saved the day

Don't know of any successful thefts with the RLD protector fitted but when I discussed the issue with my next door neighbour (who happens to have an RRS too), he described how one of his friends (another RRS owner) saw his spare wheel stolen on his CCTV. Unwise to go into the details of the method he described but if true, would work even with the RLD protector fitted Sad I still bought the device because undoubtedly it will make the task much more difficult for the ba Censored ds by at least disallowing the easier method.

My suggestion of a 'full' or 'half' cover that was also clearly visible from the rear of the car was that it could act as a deterrent.

Not a bad idea. Perhaps JamesTee can suggest this to the design people at JLR?
