Cruise control

Hi,

I have read about problems with ACC, but would this stop the cruise control working all together? The message "cruise control not avaliable" appears on the screen.

Thanks Ron

I am sorry I can not help you but while we are talking cruise control has anyone had my problem or know how to sort it out.
Sometimes when I start a journey the cruise control will not come on when I try to op. it so I have to stop switch engine off and start engine again it will work for the rest of journey although sometimes it stops working again. If it stops working on a motorway I have to put RR in neutral while travelling at say 50 mph turn engine off and then restart and it works again. Has anyone had this problem or can explain it for me . Thanks for any help

Yes . If the road is clear in-front and nothing behind and straight into neutral ignition off for say 2 seconds and then restart engine and back into drive. Not that hairy. Have you or any other readers had this problem with cruise control

Is it such a big no no to turn the ignition off while travelling at speed. Other than the obvious dangers of not being able to take evasive action should the need arise. Would there be any detrimental affect to the vehicle ? Never done it in my Range, but in a previous Audi that kept going into limp mode it was one way to 'reset' it. Trying to pull on and off the hard shoulder, would probably be just as hazardous. Question
