RRS Lowered Suspension

Had my car in for an MOT today and LR tells me mine has aftermarket lowered suspension (I thought it sat lower than others).

I like the lowered look but LR tell me to return it to as it should be 'factory fit' it will cost £250 to change and fit the standard suspension sensors or I pay £75 for the invstigative work which was done.

Any recommendations/thoughts on whether to leave it as is or change back to the standard look/ride height? RR Sport TDV8 09 Santorini Black with all the trimmings

I lowered my vouge with the aftermarket link arms avaialble on eBay circa £100 - I'm considering having the ECU adjust the ride by 15-20mm on my RRS now but everyone I've spoken to has told me avoid.. running 22's with the lowered ride may make it unbearable (dependant on the roads clearly)

The arms replaced the standard items and simply popped into place, I would imagine to replace would not cost a lot from a dealer.

So as I personally see it - ECU adjusted to raise the ride height OR if it does have the arms, replace with factory items.

Either way £250 sounds steep, and as for 'sensors', never knew it needed different ones..

Having had lots of lowered cars over the years I love the look but sump scraping 100mm drop on coilvers days for me over.. shame as even 20mm on a RRS looks so much better with 22's certainly, 20's personally I think can get away with not loweing

If the ride is ok, I would leave it as it is! LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

x2 - if its done and looks good and you can handle the ride - no point changing

decided to keep as is, it looks better than standard and the ride is ok, never noticed a difference although I've since found out it could be a bit softer, seems ok with me.

Shame its just cost me £75 for LR to tell me its got lowered suspension ;( RR Sport TDV8 09 Santorini Black with all the trimmings

Just be aware, it might effect is any warranty you may have being non-standard, could be worth checking Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

If LR know it's lowered then they'll definitely chuck out any suspension warranty claims. If it's just the dealer then you might be able to sweet talk them in to ignoring the lower stance if it does require a warranty claim. Depends how well you get on with the service guys I guess.

When one considers how expensive suspension faults can be, I wonder if a lowered stance is worth the possible financial cost...

I would think that using suspension reprogramming (using the EAS tool) would be better than using aftermarket links if only because you can always tell it to run at the correct height when it goes to the garage Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
