Can you put a hse tv/sat nav into a s model.

Hi guys. Just purchased a rrs but after driving 4hours to collect it I found out it was a s not a hse. After a long chat and a cracking deal later I bought it.
Are all sports fitted with the same wiring loom so I can buy the extras and plug the compoints in? First one is the sat nav. Has any one fitted one or can it be done? Any help would be great

Thanks in advance
Mitch

The sat nav isn't that good, to be honest. If you just wat sat nav then a TomTom or similar would probably be a better bet. A smartphone with CoPilot is also pretty good (have it on my Nexus and it works pretty well).

The sat nav in the older cars is dvd based so you'd need to buy that too. And the discs are c.£165 a time if you want to keep it up to date. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Oh right. So is the sat nav not the tv as well?
Also I have the phone logo on the stereo but when I press it, it comes up with "phone not fitted" dose this mean my stereo is not bluetooth compatible?

Hello Mitchmx.

In order to complete the car with satnav and phone, You will need some new
wiringlooms, and a bluetoothmodule. The satnav consists of a screen, and a dvd-unit
(where hardware and software for nav is). The phone needs a bluetooth module, and
the triggers on the steeringvweel, right side (green and red receiver pic)
The entertainment system communicates via a most-cable, and if You should get your hands
on all the parts needed, they must be enabled with either a Faultmate or similar.
The stereo must be a high-line unit, that has the outlets/inlets for it all
(6cd changer, and the amplifier also must be compatible)

So, it will not be an easy job to upgrade the car to HSE spec, it is possible though, but a lot of effort.

There is a guy on the Disco 3 forum, (disco3.co.uk) who has done it, search there, the member there is called "Wiggs"

Best regards
