80K Miles On The Clock Is It time To Sell?

It's been quite some time since I have visited the Forum. I also acknowledge that the "mileage" issue has been previously discussed. That said, our 2006 RRS is starting to get a little long in the tooth.

We couldn't be happier with our Sport, however, I'm a bit concerned about the reliability. I have religiously changed the oil every 3K miles, as well as, properly maintained the gear box tranny etc.

I drive around 12K per year and have an extended warranty that is good for another 18K miles or 24 months. I would like to keep this vehicle beyond a 100k, provided that I'm not going to regret that decision.

Any advice or recommendations is greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

I still have my TDv8 after 5 years and 90,000 miles. Can't think of another car I would rather have - so planning on keeping her for a good while yet. I figure that the cost of keeping her in good shape will be a lot less than the depreciation on a new one. The only cost so far, other than regular servicing, was replacing one failed turbo (LR paid half at 4 years old) and replacing the bushes on the steering rack every 6 months.

If your car has proved reliable up to now I see no reason why it wont remain reliable for a good few years yet. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

the real problem would be if you swap into a newer car that is plagued with the more traditional issues like knocking and suspension height problems Whistle ============

Point well made, the business case for keeping her is compelling.

Thanks!
