2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

But...why not ship them with 45 profile tyres which gives a superior ride (getting closer to that of the Disco 3/4), fills the arches moreso, esp with Scorpions, and probably gives the suspension less hammer. Maybe there is less availability with this profile?
I reckon with 45s ride is circa 25pc improved. Before I had Scorpions on 40 and now Goodyear UHP on 45, so how much the change of tyre reflects this ...well who knows! But having had arc bars replaced twice, and drop links once, then re-torquing (which finally stopped any noise underneath..), then going to 45s, I now have a set up which is nigh on A1.

I genuinely can't see what needs improving - I just have standard 20s (the S/C variety) and think the ride is perfect Laughing

I didn't notice any difference between my Toyo and Conti rubber (except the Conti wore on the edges) but then again I am someone who thinks people who fill up with nitrogen are "silly billies" Whistle

Netherlands 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

Hi Beefbops,

I don`t want to ruin your party, but:

According official Land Rover Technical Service Bulletin,
there is a restriction on the older RRS`s because of the steering rack.
Some pre 2007 models with standard 19` had the non dampend steering rack.
You will be able to see which one you have got under your car after reading the TSB in the quote below.

For 20`you will need the dampend steering rack, otherwise the ride will suffer steering wheel vibration
round 80 till 110 km/hr and at the end the rack will get damaged.

I changed from 19`to 20` and the ride is less comfortable, but cornering and looks are so much better!

Read this link from Mr RRS Bow down Bow down Bobby Bow down Bow down :

I notice your's is a 2005 model.. it just might be one of the earlier ones without the 'dampened' steering racks. They gave alot of trouble, especially to those upgrading to 20's.

MDP posted the drawings and you could check if you have the 'dampened' steering racks or not..

"A" is the non-dampened and "B" is the dampened.

And this is where you check..

Hope this helps. Thumbs Up SW

I think the 20's look great on the Sport. When I get my RRS I dont think I'll go bigger simply for cost of rubber and my wife (or me) curbing the crap out of them. I'm about to get my wifes Audi rims in for a fix up cause of curbing. just s*its me but it is what it isand thats life.

There was a post on here somewhere about having to upgrade something with the steering? or hub assemlby? if you want to go to 22s or bigger? but I couldnt find the post.

Is that the case?
