My rear screen demist has recently died. Fuse was ok so had the local LR dealer look at it under warranty. They reckon the fault is with the screen and therefore it's not covered under the warranty. Needs a new screen! So, that'll be getting done at some point in the future but not too soon... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Are they claiming you have damaged the screen - don't see why it's the screen per se can be a rejected warranty claim. Can you explain more?

They say that they've checked the electrical side of the car and that the connectors between the car and screen are showing power and earth continuity. Therefore in order to remedy the fault they say a new screen is required. And in the small print, the LR Approved Warranty doesn't cover glass. The Warranty Co. are thus saying they won't pay for a new screen because that is 'glass'. I pointed out that it's an electrical fault not a glass fault but they don't see it that way.

So that'll be me feeling a bit Censored off then...and £100 poorer because they charged me for an hour's work which, as it's not covered by the warranty, I had to pay. Great. £100 to be told it's broken.

If I get the time, I shall have a look at the thing myself. I guess I have to take the spoiler off to get to the connectors (they mention removing the spoiler in the job notes from the garage). If I'm going to have to pay for a new screen I may as well spend an hour having a poke about first. Might just be an obvious issue that the "technician" couldn't see... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

id escalate that one mate, is it a LR warranty ?

Id been looking for good will from LR as the cars only 4 years old and minus smashing the screen not an owner related issue.

Yeah, I think I'll get in touch with the LR dealer that sold it to me and see if I can get anything that way. It was looked at by the local LR dealer just because they're closer. Hopefully I can get something sorted. Yes, it's the LR Approved Warranty. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

had a similar issue with a rear screen, didn't accept this bullshit answer (it was LPR relaying what the warranty company had said).. pushed and pushed and got a new rear screen under the LR extended warranty. Although they wouldn't re-tint it Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter ============
