Exhaust smell after starting

Hello everybody,
when starting the engine at cold weather (typically at 0°C or below) I always get a smell of exhaust fumes inside the car for a few minutes, which goes away after a few kilometers. The dealer says this is not possible ... Evil or Very Mad It is not happening at all during the summer season.
What is the reason/problem for this as I don't think this is normal? What can I do?
(BTW, the car is a RRS 2009 V6 2.7l Diesel)

Yes, that's what I think, too. You can hear the pre-heater starting at cold weather - but is the exhaust smell really OK ?

Well, I get a slight sniff off it for a couple of minutes but thats it, from what I gather it is normal and was present on all cars with it that I test drove when looking last winter. If it really stinks I'd take it in to the dealer Thumbs Up

This is a normal feature of the pre-heater Thumbs Up

@ rm0rgan - not sure if all the RRS have this but your TDV8 certainly does
