Removing stones trapped between the disc and heat shield

Well what it says on the tin really!

I managed to get a few stones trapped between the heat shield and the disc brake, most flew out when I got up to speed but one was determined to stay and made the most horrendous grinding noise! I eventually managed to shift if by driving round in circles on full lock quite quickly in reverse!

I was wondering if anyone had some maybe less extreme ways of removing them without taking the wheel off?! LR Defender 90 - gone

Yep had this problem myself.

Get in the car and head to the jet wash. On the dash board there is a button to the left of the stereo ... thats right called the volume button turn it all the way up to the right until you arrive at the jetwash, then just give the brakes a good jet washing.

It worked for me.

Thumbs Up That was my plan C! Good to know that it works, maybe I'll just head straight to the garage next time! LR Defender 90 - gone

I've had this before also, it sounded like the wheel had fell off. Luckily it came out after a few 100 meters.
