Bu66er! I've just fixed mortgage at 3.75% for 3 years banking in an increase! I always seem to fix at wrong time!
Upside is the pound should decrease against euro which is good for my business, but crap for holidays! MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

More bad news for those of us who spend what we earned yesterday instead of those who spend today what they hope they'll earn tomorrow. Whistle

I wish, Ady! I was just being sympathetic to those who do! Of our turnover about £1M is sold in euros, we don't fix rates with the bank, so we hang on to our euros till the exchange rate suits us. Another downside is that as most of the seafood industry is export driven , if the pound weakens it is cheaper for eurozone to buy Scottish fish, but the price of fish on the Quayside goes up to compensate, meaning your fish supper will cost more( as if it wasn't expensive enough!)
Cheers

Cod it could still be cheaper for you to pay the redemption penalty and add that penalty to your mortgage and get a 1.99% tracker....ask the question, you could make up the fee in 18 months....with the money you save...

i dont have the kahunas for that kind of thing!, i would do that and the bank of england would suddenly change their mind and go to 5%!!, anyway, its not a huge problem as mortgage is only for 60k and finishes in a few years! MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

good news for me, part of my mortgage is a tracker at IIRC 0.18% above base rate,

I know i was advised not to cancel it when i moved last year as he could believe how low a rate i had, and got my extra funds on a fixed additional mortgage

my mortgage is 0.99% above base so the lower the better in that respect..............but my company deposit account also tracks the base rate so my interest is Censored

Same with me. My tracker mortgage is 0.4% above base with HSBC fixed for the duration of the term, but as you say, the downside is the business savings/bond rates are pretty poor. Best one I've found recently was with Santander - a one-year fixed business bond at 2.75%.

Can't have it both ways I suppose. 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE

You can get 6.15% on bank deposit here or slightly more if you lock it in for 6 month term deposit. Unfortunately, the income is taxable like it is in the UK at your highest marginal rate.
