Vesuvius Orange!

Hey all,

First off....GREAT FORUM!!! I love it....well done!

I have just placed an order on a RR Sport SC, and was told I could not order it in Vesuvius Orange. I understand that originally that color was just for the first editions, but then I read that RR were going to offer it as a special metallic color because of its popularity.

Does anyone know for sure what the deal is on this? I am confirming my order this week, and if possible want to insist on the color...my dealer I feel is choosing the easy way out and give me a pre ordered car.

Let me know...

Thanks
Rolling Eyes

I've not heard that rumour about them issuing the colour again, but I do know there are 3 new colours for the Supercharged being released for December, they are on the Land Rover build your car part of the website, although last time I looked they had not uploaded the actual colour swatches. L319 D4 HSE

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

I also really like Vessvius Orange. Not quite sure why, but it just looks great on this car. It would probably look dreadful on most other vehicles. I rang my dealer today to ask if he had heard about a change of availability on Vesuvius (I have a TDv6 HSE on order and would definitely have Vesuvius if I could). He is ringing Landrover today to ask and I'll let you know what happens. If Vesuvius isn't available my second choise is Rimini Red with black leather. I originally ordered in Artic Frost (but now have "cold feet" Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the help....I hope they bring that color back and soon! I agree its perfect for the RR Sport.

If I cant get that color, I am probably going for the Buckingham Blue with Ebony Interior. Silver/Black 911 GT3 (2001)
Silver/Black S55 AMG (2002)
Titanium/Tan Cayenne Turbo (2004)

Lucky, lucky....

Manssour, interested to hear your thoughts as a Cayenne Turbo driver as to why you'd entertain a RRS even if it is an s/c?

Anyone else? Given the able cheque book - what would you choose? The RRS S/C or the Cayenne Turbo?

Myself - a difficult choice. There's as much spec in the Turbo as there is in the RRS, but the Turbo is so much more performant. The RRS may beat the Cayenne off-road, but then you're not off-roading at silly speeds. And then there's the "unique" looks of the Cayenne. If my cheque book was THAT able, maybe I'd have both. I think I just answered my own question! Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

Cayenne Turbo VS RR S/C,

To be honest the Cayenne is a different car all together....Its actually a little crazy....because of the Turbo.....and Lag.....ITs a point and squirt type of car....but JUST AMAZING! No matter what 4X4 you drive....after you climb right back in the Cayenne...its big smile on your face...but there should be a big sticker on the stearing that says "DRIVE AT YOUR OWN RISK". The issue isnt the speed or acceleration, its the the combination of that with the size of the thing! I mean its 2 1/2 tons and much bigger than an average car.

The RR is in a different class...Its all about how you get there, not when, not how well...but the entire ambiance of an RR superscedes all. Even the Normal RR compared to many luxury cars...its right up there in terms of presence and quality.

To answer your Q...I'd pick the Cayenne for now...until I recieve the RR I might change my mind when I finally drive it. Silver/Black 911 GT3 (2001)
