Just for the record, as the thread above will recount, I purchased a roof "kit" from EBay to find it only included bars.

You cannot buy bars and rails seperately so unless you have a vehicle with rails, do not buy the bars as a seperate item.

In the end I managed to sell my bars to a gentleman off this forum who had rails but no bars, but I hazard a guess I was lucky.

Rolling with laughter

The whole bloody LR roof rail/bars kit is a PITA because you cannot fit the kit without drilling your roof inserts....which means if you then want to remove the kit so you don't have to rock around with it constantly spoiling your gas mileage/image, you have to purchase a new set of inserts.
