so i had my 1st exp of the whole dash going binner,every fault message known to man ,car in with MD .only to find that there are no alternators around ,and it could be a week ????

how can this be ?

That sounds terrible. My alternator went a couple of months ago - the dealer got one for me the next day. Maybe the cold weather has caused more failures and supply is short?

mine went today will find out tommorow if i can get it done

My alternator has gone today TDV6 hopefully have it fixed for Monday,has anybody had any experiance of having an alternator refurbed??? 2007 HSE in black with 22 inch id ones with privacy glass.

The refurb has not worked main dealers are on back order till i dont know when,europarts day after tomorrow.Is there a difference with these alternators if you have stability control??????Is there something else i should be looking at as why it is not charging????? 2007 HSE in black with 22 inch id ones with privacy glass.

the one u need is the same I had a mission to get hold of its YLE 500420 DENZO ( for ACE CONTROL )
TRY TO AVOID A THIRD PARTY ONE AS THEY DONT LAST
but they are all on back order I was so lucky
I thinK that because of all the load it runs ... Lr didnt put a more powerfull ampage alternator in manufacture so if u have the money put a lucas one on for time being to get u mobile then when there in stock get it changed to OEM

Thanks when it becomes mobile i will put it the vehicle for sale,reading through the pages of forums they seem to be a hell of a lot of trouble.Love the vehicle to death but my bank balance can not sustain this level of unreliabilty. 2007 HSE in black with 22 inch id ones with privacy glass.

hi think thats a bit harsh over alternator ?

at the end of day every car has a forum and everyone moans no matter what they have

think u cant go wrong with a rr sport u just may need to look down other avenues than main dealer repairs

I avoid them like plague I have found a good guy to do my work

maybe go and see if anyone knows a good mechnic on here ?

Hi the car is not at main dealers,just an independant who does all my work.I have rang round the dealers in staffs and chesire area and they are all on back order,rang an alternator specialist and they may not be able to repair it as they may not get the parts.Has anybody any ideas where i can get it repaired i am willing to travel to get it done,
The diodes have been changed so it may be the voltage regulator.Thanks. 2007 HSE in black with 22 inch id ones with privacy glass.

Just an update,spent all morning on the phone trying to get alternator,managed to find one a so going to travel down this afternoon.Big thanks to Hillingdale in Nelson for sourcing it for me.
If anybody needs the number to repair there alternator let me know as i now have one.  2007 HSE in black with 22 inch id ones with privacy glass.

All fixed now the alternator is on,managed to save the battery car drives completely different must of being going for a while,and the droning noise has dissapeared too ,just got to fix the blowing exhaust now then i will be made up. 2007 HSE in black with 22 inch id ones with privacy glass.
