Engine System Fault - No Faults on OBD

Hi all,

I've had a sporadic Engine System Fault message that's now on permanently, but weirdly, no engine warning light or on board diagnostic fault codes.
Took it to the dealer to see if they could plug it into an official LR diagnostic machine, and they can't even look at it till Jan 5th.
Irritated story short, the guy at the service desk said it might be a low battery. I do 500 miles a week too and from work, so the battery should get enough
recharge... Still, anyone here seen anything like this? I'm going to give it a 24hr charge tomorrow anyway.
Car is just 3 years old and 85k miles.

Thanks for any replies.

Hey Cad,
I know how you feel mate, my car started showing the same fault from saturday. But slightly different, mine starts fine, ticks over fine, drives away ok untill it reaches 30 to 40 mph then slows quickly down & shows the `engine system fault` limp mode i think they call it.In 2 years its never missed a beat now this. Had a breakdown guy out, plugged his diagnostic reader in, no fault showing. Now reading through all the posts my head is spinning, so looks like a trip to the stealer.
Any ideas to this would be most appreciated aswell !!

Pretty common D3 side, you could have anything from clogged fuel filter to terminally knacked turbo, and many otter things. Search ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT over there. "Just 3 years" is now getting to be an old car, welcome to LR's version of quality and reliability! Banging Head Banging Head

On charge as I type, I'll post it it makes any difference, otherwise I'll be shelling out... ...but maybe to a specialist rather than a dealer now it's out of warranty. Life's a bitch, but at least I drive a Range Rover Smile

Engine System Fault - No Faults on OBD

I had this problem, happened last week for a few seconds.
I posted a thread on the forum to which i got no replies Sad

Drove perfectly after the initial few seconds fault.

Went into LPR on Monday, hooked up to the computer and was recording no faults in the system. Was told it could be just a glitch, but since the initial problem its driven perfectly normal Very Happy TDV8 HST STORNOWAY ON A 58
