Mud Flaps & Boot Liner?

Hi Guys - Just having bought my Sport I would appreciate any help and advice.

I have 3 Labradors so I need to buy a Dog Guard and Boot Liner. Is anyone using any particular products they would recommend I look at?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks Jim!

I wanted to know how easy it is to fit mud flaps?

I will be buying something similar to LR ones but cheaper and don't want to pay dealer workshop prices for something like this.

I assume they are easy to fit but not being mechanically minded and of mature years I wanted to check first?

Regards

Re: Mud Flaps & Boot Liner?

I'm picking my RRS up on Sunday and have already ordered a dog guard and divider from Travall.

I use a dog bag for my Lab and he loves it - we live in a rural area and he gets pretty muddy and it keeps the car spotless - also stops wet nose marks on glass Very Happy

Had mine years and still looks good - just jet wash it now and then Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Hi

I would not hesitate to purchase and fit the mud flaps, its a very easy DIY job, I am 63 and would not even blink at doing this job. Personally I would buy the genuine LR mud flaps, you will then get the correct fitting instructions and screws etc. I purchased mine off ebay and paid about £108 for both sets.

Several people on here dislike the flaps with a vengance but personally I think they do a good job of keeping the muck off the bodywork and look good, however this is my personal view.

Best of luck with your choice.

Jim

i agree with jimbo, genuine ones £105 from local stealers.took me about 50 minutes in the freezing rain the other day,no need to take the wheels off.i was contemplating the non genuine ones but i suppose personal preference/budget.

I can recommend the boot liner from Hatch Bag. These are tailored to fit the RRS exactly and come with various options like a bumper flap that you can drop down over the bumper when you let your dog in and out to prevent their claws scratching the paintwork. There is also a similar flap that goes over the backs of the rear seats to keep the dog slobber off the leather.
They also produce tailored anti-odour mats that work really well at keeping the wet dog smell at bay.
I've used them on my last 3 cars and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.

Mud Flaps & Boot Liners

I had mud flaps on my Disco 2 before and have immediately noticed the difference in dirt volume by not having them now - will take your good advice and the Hatch Bag site looks interesting so I will probably take that route as well.

Thanks so much for all your useful advice guys, really appreciate it! Baza G

Only problem with liners is if the dog shakes itself - mine did - mud all over roof lining and windows Evil or Very Mad

Thats when I bought dog bag Thumbs Up
