Might be your bushings - I had a D3 done once and a RRS twice. D3 would have been about 14,000km and the RRS twice in it's 19,000km.

All jobs done under warranty, have a D4 now. 6 months in a there is a little bit of creaking going over speed humps. Evil or Very Mad

would bushings/bottom ball joint/anti roll bar bushes be warranty claims?

I had my ball joints anti roll bar bushes changed under warranty last week to cure the knocking problem, car is fine now although they did not fit the mass dampers to the front. (Yet)

Hi Jim

If yours doesn't have dynamic response you may not need mass dampers. As far as I know LR only recommend them for cars with DR which have more knock generating components in the system.

Hi Bob

My car does have Dynamic Response so I was a little surprised that they did not fit the mass dampers as reccomended in LTB00241, the car has only done 16000 easy miles so I was surprised they had to change the anti roll bar bushes last week, the upgraded ball joints were fitted a few months ago.

The car is knock free again now but who knows for how long! I was dissapointed they did not fit the Mass Dampers after reading some of the positive reports on here from those who have had them fitted. I would be interested to know if those with the Mass Dampers fitted are still knock free?

Still got just over a year to go on the warrenty so plenty of time for it to show up again.

Jim

LR fitted mass dampers for me just after LTB00241 came out at the end of last October and I have had no significant knocking issue since. Did your dealer remove the front body shock absorbers? They are a known noise transmission path.

Hi Bob

The body shock absorbers have been removed. When you think about it there would have been no point fitting the Mass Damper if the anti roll bar bushes were shot. Do they only fit the mass Damper as a last resort or as it is thought to cure the problem should it be fitted as a requirement?

Jim

Some dealers will probably just fit them as it it such a simple mod but if you can't hear knocking then there is no point in carrying an extra 6.5kg of mass dampers around.

If you can it's probably best if you can find a test route, which guarantees to generate knocks, near enough to the dealer so that you can demonstrate the problem to them. They should then have no argument for not fitting the mass dampers.

HI all
Mine has just come out of the dealers for the second time with the same problem, according to the service manager its a problem that land rover are constantly addressing and updating. mine has been in twice i two months and i've had two different applications. the first didn't work but the second has. apparently its the clamps they hold down the bushes with that is the problem.(didn't mean much to me but may to you cleaver people). hope this has shed some light on the matter. 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR

I have bad creaking on mine..
so bad that it's sometimes embarassing to drive it.
A while ago I took it into the dealers....but they dont road test here..so they really had no clue as to what I was explaining.
so they gave me back the vehicle and said that they weren't finding anything wrong.

I'm considering taking it to an independent shop to have it checked out. My warranty is over so it doesn't matter much.

RRSBOY,

I have the same thing when I go over bumps, creaks. Was it a quick job for them to replace the bushes?

Cheers

M
