Sounds like you've got tar spots on the paintwork. Easily removed by using a clay bar. Check out these links;

Some basic kits in Halfords too.

Let us know how you get on. Be warned - its addictive! Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

I get the same problem on mine

I find they are little tar spots, even though it's through the winter and some contaminates

a good wash with pressure washer, autosmart tardis(a tar remover) and a megiuers clay
bar kit, a rewash, then I have to re wax the panels as this would strip anything off them

some if my spots are also orange rusty coloured fleck which I presume is some sort of iron filing

As above.. If you look CLOSE, you will notice a whole array of wierd and wonderful deposits on the vehicle's paintwork..

Ideally, you should clay & cleanse once every six months. Protection should be topped up every three.

This should see you on top of the contaminents before they get 'too' engrained.. AS Tardis is brilliant for melting tar deposits (also v.useful for shift grease/muck in engine bay, door shuts etc..) and then a clay-bar (I'm currently using Sonus Green..) will see the removal of other fallout that Tardis does not shift.

..next time you clay your car, give the rear window a good going over, too. Quite suprised how much it lifts off!
