Windscreen Wipers - Aaargh!

Been having the same problem with windscreen wiper noise (squeaking badly) that a few other members have been having.
At first I thoroughly cleaned both the windscreen AND the wipers - there was an immediate improvement but not for long.

I just bought some 22" RAIN-X wipers. The drivers side fits perfectly - but for some reason (probably finger trouble on my behalf) the passenger side don't!
Only about two-thirds of the blade touches the screen - the other third just sticks up!
Could somebody please tell me what I might be doing wrong? !!
Sorry to be so dim!

BTW - it's a 2007 RRS S/charged.

Thanks alot

M

Had the same problem with my wipers but have cured it now.
Clean the windscreen & wiper blades with neat sreen wash on a clean cotton cloth (Decasol is pretty good!)
This should cure it.
The sqeaking is usually caused by the wiper blade not trailing in the right direction through the entire sweep so you will need to twist it slightly to do this, but you will need to twist the blade & the carrier carefully together in the right direction Wink
Sorted ! I am their leader................ which way did they go ?

Thanks for that tip. On closer inspection - the original blades are pretty much at the end of their life.

HOWEVER - the question still remains - how on earth do I get this new 22" blade to fit properly on the passenger side's wiper arm AND sit flush to the screen the whole way along!?

I'm probably doing something wrong - but can't fathom out what it is !

Thanks again

M

Your wipers make more of a noise when they are dirty. Soak a piece of rag in vinegar (yes, that stuff you put on your chips) and clean along the length of the wiper blades with it.

You'll find that a lot of muck will come off and your wipers will be transformed. It will make the noise go away. I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

I had the same wiper problem on my TDV6 and the same is happening on my V8. I've tried replacements but same problem persisted.
But 3 months ago I tracked down a superior quality blade, the company is DuroWipers tel 0844 8541 551.
price £42.50 per pair.
No more anoying wiper noises , bliss

Bosch Icons

If you can find them, try Bosch Icons. I've recently installed them on my 06 RRSport and they work very nicely with no audible squeaking. I purchased them after looking at RainX, Goodyear and Michelin wipers. The Bosch Icons are high-performance wipers that are well-made with a sturdy feel most of you will appreciate.
