Bluetoothe memory full?

Good afternoon everyone.

The bluetoothe in my sport only connects if I pair the car each time I get in. i.e. I does not remember the phone.

With previous phones that I have had the phones worked fine everytime I get in the car. I have another car with Parrot Bluetooth and I reallised that there are only so many phones that you can pair to, as in the memory gets full up. But with the parrot, you get instructions on how to delete the memory. After this you pair your 1,2,3+ phones and it all works brilliantly again.

So, I am assume that the LR memory fills up. But how do you delete the previoulsy paired phones?

Your ideas will be very welcome, thank you I work and I pay tax, a lot of tax

I believe the oldest paired phone just gets overwritten by the next-oldest when the module reaches its handset storage limit and you try to pair a new one... I think there was a limit of 8 phones that could be "remembered" by the Nokia PTI system (the one with the cradle dock under the center armrest) on 05-08s and 5 phones on the Conti/Moto, Bluetooth-only module on 09-10s. You can "manually" deactivate old paired phones you no longer wish to pair to the car by deleting the "Land Rover" Bluetooth device on the handset.

What model year RRS do you own and what type of handset? Some phones don't play nice with the in-car BT module and need to be paired manually each time you enter the car. Sometimes the problem disappears by upgrading the phone's software or updating the telephone module in the car (via dealer upload.)

Thanks

Its a 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE. It was the full phone prep, but I never went as far as to get the cradle. I did not need to as the bluetooth worked fine.

Presently I am using an HTC phone, but my previous Nokia and BT mobiles did not remember my phones either. Literally, it stopped remembering my phones about 18 months ago. Before that, it remembered any phone.

I Just hoped that there was something that I could do, to clear the memory. I would do anything to avoid going to a LR main dealer... Evil or Very Mad

Thanks for your help Thumbs Up I work and I pay tax, a lot of tax

One of the problems with the Nokia system (for it's a Nokia system that LR are using) is that there's no car-side ability to remove old pairings. Not sure about in the new Continental unit, but that's no use to you anyway Wink

Not heard that there is a user-driven reset process... you might be into a dealer trip. Could be that your BT module has developed a fault... not unknown Confused

Biffa, is your HTC phone an Android device using Google OS? My experince so far with Android devices is that Bluetooth support is not great and can vary greatly between car kits.

Can you elliminate the car kit by trying another phone?

It is an HTC with windows mobile back end. It it is not the phone, as my previous phones have not worked recently including my last phone (stopped using 2 weeks ago) which was a Nokia.

So, it is definately the LR system.

Looks like a visit to the Main Dealer Mad

Thanks anyways I work and I pay tax, a lot of tax
