Sunroof stuck open

Hi all
I need help quickly, I went to switch on the interior front light tonight and pushed the sunroof button instead, the problem is the bluddy outside was frozen solid with ice. The roof went to open but only moved down at the rear about 1/4 of an inch then stopped. I removed the ice and made sure the glass was free to move but still no movement when pressing button. I checked the fuse per the hand book #20 it's a 15amp fuse but to my suprise it was fine. Can the sunroof be moved/wound manualy as my 06 disco 3 could?? I realy need to get the roof closed as soon as poss. Is there a relay thats popped. Any ideas would be very helpfull.

PS dont think theres any power to the switch lights dont dim when pressing it.

thanks wullie Sad

I don't have a sunroof on mine but on cars that I have owned that have had an electric sunroof there is an emergency manual closer mechanism as well - have you looked in the owners manual? Failing that lots of gaffer tape strips and heavy duty plastic to seal the gap until the weather warms up! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Wullie sorry I was trying to send from my Iphone.

Right what you need to do is while out in the car and it is running, press the tilt button and hold it for about a minute. This should reset the motor and brain it did for me and mine was stuck on the slide.

Good luck let me know. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Hi
Well thanks for the help and the ha ha funnys Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Censored , ( tried the brolly idea but it turned inside out at 70mph ).
Anyway it's fixed as Misery say's hold the button, I found this over on the disco 3 forum read below.

QUESTION

Just a quick question I tried to open the sunroof the other morning, god only knows why, it was minus 1 outside.
Anyway it started to open then cutout completely.
I havent had time to look for the answer yet, just a fuse I would think.
Is this something to look out for, or a one of?

ANSWER

Under some circumstances (i.e. if the battery is
disconnected), the sunroof position may need
to be recalibrated. The sunroof position is
recalibrated as follows:

1. With the battery connected, turn the starter
switch to position ll.

2. Press and hold the front of the switch for
20 seconds. The sunroof will start to
move.

Continue to hold the switch until the
sunroof completes one full open and

closing cycle. When the sunroof stops
moving, release the switch.

The sunroof can then be operated as normal.
Note: Calibration will not function if the battery
voltage is low.

This works thanks for all your help Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
