Skinky Interior after very wet weather

Hi,

Following heavy rainfall, the next morning my car stinks for a few days. A friend say that the drains for the aircon could be blocked and as I have never seen any drops of water under the car for the l ast 4 years he may be right.

Anyone know where they are and how to unblock the drains.?

Thanks in advance!

Check if the carpets in the front footwells are wet or dry. If you have also got the premium mats it could be that they are sodden with snow melt. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Removed the mats (rubber) this afternoon. Found the drivers footwell very damp, Rest OK.

Have used the car last weekend to go up the snow covered Dublin mountains with kids tobogganing, With snow setting selected and General Grabber "19 Tyres, got way past Landcrusiers, Pajeros, X5's and all other rubbish trying same.

After tobogganing session, family (5 kids inc friends) all got into car with plently of snow dragged in with us. Started stinking next day and still the same.

The same thing happens during the summer, after a wet day at a gymkhana.

Do you know how to check the aircon drain, as I feel it is not releasing the moisture it takes from the cabin air.

There have also been some reports of leaks into the rear of the car, have a look and see that the seal for the upper tailgate hasn't got squashed and the carpet in the boot is dry 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
