Normal Wiper Operation ???

Hi,

I am just getting to know my recently purchased 2006 RRS, and my front and rear wipers come on once everytime I switch on or off my ignition. I am almost sure that it did not do this before. I have tried reading the manual and setting the wiper switch in different positions, but to no avail.

Is this normal ? Thanks for any help !

Gerry

Definitely not normal but I have no idea where this could come from. Question
Sure the rear wiper is turned off? Even if it is: Dos the rear wiper come on when you are in reverse or just right at the start?
Perhaps your rain sensor is dirty, try cleaning the windscreen at the sensor, perhaps there is some oil or something...

This is really weird. I mean, it would be fine if you lived in GB, the wipers there come on at start because it is always raining! Thumbs Up Mr. Green RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

I suspect it's the same thing that happens to my Fl2's

only cure i have found is to leave them switched off until it rains then pop them to auto

LR looked at it a few times, no fault found Neutral

Saves the risk of scratching the screen due to dry wiping a piece of grit and makes the blades last longer Thumbs Up

Have a look at where the rear view mirror is. There should be a black case that comes apart. Inside is teh module for the rainsensing wiper. Now disconnect it (make sure the car is turned off) and then reconnect and a make sure the wires are not knotted. I had this issue after autoglass changed my windscreen and it fixed the problem. As per the above post ensure that the area which covers the rainsensing wiper on teh windscreen outside is free from any road grime etc. Then place your wipers on auto and turn the car on. It should help. Failing that i really cant help you. Thumbs Up
