The Ultimate iPod Solution?

Just had an iPod dock fitted to the Wifes RRSport by the Car Hifi Centre in Cheltenham and am really happy with it. More imporantly so is she!
Links the iPod to the navi touch screen which you also use to control the iPod. Displays the artwork and they tell me (though we have not tried it yet) will play ipod videos through the screen as well.
Took about half a day to fit - Expensive, but so was the `basic` interface fitted to my Disco by the dealers. Going to book my Disco in now to take land rovers interface out and fit this instead.
Very Happy Very Happy

Now had both ipod interfaces for a few weeks- still working great. Very easy to use once you are used to all the controls which are on the touch screen.
Spoke to dave at the car hifi centre and it is an Alpine based system, but the expensive bit is a custom interface to link it with the RR controls and screen. They are not selling it at the moment unless they fit it as they want to make completely sure it is compatible with all hardware / software options. However they are hoping to retail it later.
Told Dave to register here so he can tell you all when its available if your not near Cheltenham.

Sorry I dont have the Drive and Play 2 anymore. I installed it in my Lexus but in my RRS I only listen to the radio. Wink
I can only say it was great. Nice sound and I love the wireless control system.

Do you have any pics of this setup?--would love to see it "News organizations have to stop saying "We go beyond the headlines." That's their job. You don't hear British Airways saying "We land our jets on the runway"
