2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Warranties

My car has just come out of warranty and not usre if to get an extended. Not LR through Warranty Direct.

What are you guy' sthoughts. It is around £650 and has unlimited claims and amount, and wear and tear which i think a good price.

When i think of my car i feel the ride quality is very harsh, which i must admit i am surpirsed with the RRS and when going over speed humps their sounds a slight knocking noise. Are these thing expensive to do?

It always comes down to pay fro it yourself if these are problems or take the warranty.

It did have a service some 3 months ago and they never picked up on any of these things, but it could be me getting nervous about no warranty.

Any thoughts or advise would be great.

My thoughts are these - if your RRS has been reliable and well looked after I probably wouldn't extend the warranty especially if you only intend to keep the car for up to 2 years. If you have worries then yes take out a warranty but read the small print as I seem to remember most 3rd party policies exclude the very things you will want them to include (the expensive stuff) Once you take out these exclusions the cost fo other repairs is usually covered by the £650 you would spend especially if you don't use a main dealer but a cheaper authorised service centre. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Regarding your ride - What size wheels do you have, if they are 20's then the ride will be harsh. The RRS has a great smooth ride if you put 18's on. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Sorry should have said it is a one owner car i have had it 3 months and only 27,000 on the clock riding on 20inch wheels. Full service history etc.

It woul dbe interesting to compare the ride to another if i am honest so i think that what i shoul do first before making my mind up after your feedback.

Thanks

Check your tyre pressure isn't too high, the ride should be smooth.

The knocking noise could be a number of things - hopefully just ball joints or bushes.

I had the same problem and lived with it for 18 months it was so rough a ride I swapped the 22" wheels on it to 19's ,a land rover mechanic I know drove it the length of my street and advised I needed new bushes ,was like night and day afterwards ,He chrged £60.00 to change them .

Cavham - what did you decide?
I have a 2005/55 RRS SC 30k miles and the warranty finishes Dec. - Was pondering the Approved warranty route, although it is £950 for annual subscription.

The extended warranty is £150 less than approved, although max claim is £3k.
Interested to know which way you went.

Well got the car checked over by an indie to and found both front roll bar bushes need replacing and front height sensors. Getting quoted £250.00 and the car is 3 weeks out of warrenty. Evil or Very Mad

Have to say after asking LR at the last service to check the car out and not to pick these things up not really impressed. Speaking with the customer care and they are checking the car over to come back to me.

What LR policy or have you expereinced in the past in this situation of a car just out of warrenty?
