Diesel Fuel Pipe Leak

Hi all, can anyone advise me on a problem I had today, whilst driving on the M25 I noticed my fuel gauge emptying rapidly. After pulling off at the next junction the car eventually died and when I got out I noticed that their had been a fuel leak. After being towed by the RAC to Chipperfield Landrover, I was told after investigation the the fuel pipe had come off from the fuel filter, resulting in two hours labour for refitting pipe and steam cleaning under the car to remove deisel at a cost of £254.00. My car is three years old, an RR Sport, tdv6 and now out of warranty. I was told after speaking to land rover that it would not be done under good will. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. Anyone know why the pipe might have come off? Grateful if anyone knows if I might be able to claim compensation. Sad

It used to be a frequent problem with TD5 Disco2's where the fuel filter was in the rear offside wheel-arch and they sometimes came unscrewed but I don't recall this being reported before. There was a problem with the high pressure common rail section under the bonnet in the early days of Disco3 production that lead to a couple of
self-combusting Disco3's, but the fault was rectified before TDv6 engined RRSport production started.
Have you tried searching for this over on Disco3.co.uk? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
