I have a TDV6..... though my vote would probably have to go for the TDV8 given a "free" choice |

I have a TDV8 and so that is the best engine. Loads of power and torque.

My v6 is certainly quick enough yet is still frugal enoug to give me a smile in both departments. How many 4x4s can do near 37mpg????? REAL 4x4s I mean...... Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

I ran a TDv6 RRS SE delivered just after launch and it was certainly the smoothest diesel engine I have had in any car but it's performance was "adequate" and now I have been running a TDv8 for 21months. At first I wondered if I would ever be able to live with the raspy exhaust note every time I accelerated but I soon got used to that - it's a pity that the TDv8 wasn't available at launch as I think a lot of people were put off buying because the "adequate" performance led to a lot of belittling of an otherwise fine car by the motoring press. Mind you they have been proved wrong as the TDv6 has certainly sold well for LR. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
