I have a TDV6..... though my vote would probably have to go for the TDV8 given a "free" choice Smile

I have a TDV8 and so that is the best engine. Smile Loads of power and torque.

I had a TDV6 and I feel that is probably a bit smoother, more refined and quieter, but underpowered for the RRS (and it doesn't have Brembos Wink )

Never drove the petrol ones, the SC is probably a great engine but I feel a bit too thirsty. '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

The TDV6 is simply to weak, and the TDV8 beats most other competition hands down.

I started out by testing my way through a wealth of diesel engines; both BMW V6 diesels (xDrive 30d and the xDrive35d), the Audi V6 TDI, as well as the VW Touaregs TDI V6 and the V10. All of these tests were several hours each, adn the search took me some 4 months.

I also tried the D3 TDV6, and then started the final dash towards the finish, with the RRSes: I tried the std. TDV6 RRS, and then the chip-tuned TDV6, and then I finally tried the RRS TDV8, and it is miles ahead. Now I am waiting for my BAS tuning kit to arrive, and let's see how that does wonders for my RRS?

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I ran a TDv6 RRS SE delivered just after launch and it was certainly the smoothest diesel engine I have had in any car but it's performance was "adequate" and now I have been running a TDv8 for 21months. At first I wondered if I would ever be able to live with the raspy exhaust note every time I accelerated but I soon got used to that - it's a pity that the TDv8 wasn't available at launch as I think a lot of people were put off buying because the "adequate" performance led to a lot of belittling of an otherwise fine car by the motoring press. Mind you they have been proved wrong as the TDv6 has certainly sold well for LR. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
