Bana - I don't think RAD was comparing the too cars as competition directly - I think its just too options thats all - noone doubts the RRS is a more superior 4x4 (in fact the best 4x4xfar Thumbs Up ) - just sometimes change is nice imo

thinking about this a little more - having changed from a RRS to a Touareg and now thinking about other options I can definitely say the RRS is the emotion buy for me - it definitely has passion and the feel good factor attached to it which is very appealing. It would be great if the MY10 really does resolve the finish issues (I've yet to see it up close myself) then I may still Cool

(edited for really poor grammar - still not perfect though Wink )

bana, I know what you are all about. But here in the UK it is the other way round. RRS around every corner and you only rarely spot X6.
Will - look at the finish of the RRS interior. You can not call that premium class Confused
RRS is knock here and squeak there, plus some message on its way Whistle
You never get that in a BMW, which is why love the RRS so much Wink

Easy choice, get the 2010 model and retrofit any one of the bmw features you want (DAB, reversing camera etc) assuming that they won't be included on the production version...

Sorry if I mislead, but, I am not trying to compare the 2 cars, that’s the beauty of the dilemma, they are very different........but ultimately, do the same job, magnificently!

My wife has a ML320 which I detest, you sail it round corners rather than drive, but the X6 feels as though its on rails!

I suppose, what I’m looking for is the new RRS body, but with the X6 interior with all its bits an pieces. To buy the MY10 and then stuff a load of extras on it doesn’t make much sense, its tough enough to get it working from the factory without giving it more bolt on problems.

I drive about 15k miles a year and frankly wouldn’t have started the question, if I wasn’t fed up with the rubbish quality of the current models interior and lack of toys.

Has anybody got a clue if the new model will have MP3, reversing camera and keyless go etc? 'Sheep' .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

Have a look at my post on the X6 vs RRS a while back.

http://rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic11823-15.html

I'm still of the same opinion. Although I must say the shape is growing on me.

Great car and all that ..... but not a modern design icon like the RRS. I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Coko - the post is reference the "new model" not current (which BTW is far too clumsy Confused ) , I was referencing the "new interior", albeit from journalistic types pictures. The revised RRS makes the BMW interior look very sombre indeed. Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Agreed Thumbs Up

The current can only be described as functional and looks as if it was designed by a cluster of colour blind hedgehogs....................................

Tried the X6 for a couple of days and must admit to being very impressed, however I really don't know if I can live with the looks. That's the looks from the people asking why anybody would buy it in the first place. 'Shocked'

Interestingly, BMW are now quoting September delivery for a new car, built to spec........much the same as a 2010 RRS.

Such decisions! 'Sheep' .

I fear you have answered your own dilemma..........

Looks wise the X6 is a monsterous thing that only Frankenstein could have conjured up, drives fantastically admittedly........but only you can stop the vomit from extruding itself from your mouth every time you come out onto your driveway Shocked Confused L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
