Has anone ever been on these at Perth and what can I expect on it. Have to admit Im REALLY looking forwad to finding out what the RRS is capable of and finding out what all those buttons actually DO in the centre consol since this is my 1st RRS.

The best bit of advice I can give is pay the extra money and upgrade to a full day, you will learn so much more and have great fun. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

With the body kit on mine it HIGHLY unlikely its going to be THAT far offroad other than when go up to the hunting lodge shooting. Other than that its as a tow car and general use so its not likely it will be going "green laning" Just wondered what it entailed. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Honestly to get there from mine for the full day would involve a HORRENDOUSLY early start in the morning which, as my son is coming as a guest, would mean trying to get a 12 yr old oout of bed at 5am. Be bad enough getting MYSELF out at that hour. Makes it a long day for him and me. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Bah Humbug Wink
I drove from Wick down to Dunkeld to do mine, really excellent day out with THEIR RRS TDV8 well worth the trouble, they have 50,000 Ha to play on with lots of trails into the hills.
Pics in the gallery

[Edit] My step son was 11 when we went and he was keen all the way, but we stayed overnight in Perth before going back. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Definitely pay the extra to do the full day - you do SO much more in the second half. The first half is pretty much a tootle around the woods. Dunkeld is meant to be a beautiful estate - I know Tim's been on that one a couple of times and the pics looked fantastic.

Search the forum for "dunkeld" and you should get a few hits Thumbs Up

4wheeldriver - take the caravan, I know it might be a long way but it really is worth it. The 2nd half (paid part) of the day is the best. Lots of mud, steep hills and water. The first part of the day only shows you the basics and usually there will be others and you will be paired with the village idiot. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Well it was the afternoon part that I booked as the freebie from Land Rover BUT they allow you 2 guests so my son (early model petrolhead lol) and a friend are coming so the only village idiot is likely to be my mate. This will be a)the 1st PROPER 4x4 he'll have driven and b) 1st time off road other than on our old trial bikes a VERRRRRRY long time ago. (both were 17) lol

Need to speak to him and see if he's willing to spring for the extra for the whole day. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

4wheeldriver- Upgrade to the full day as the others have suggested. I went down to Coniston Hall near Skipton, North Yorks with my then 12 year old son and he thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, as did myself.

Apparently the one up Perth is far better than Coniston!!

I went to Coniston Hall as well about 2.5 years ago when I bought my previous RR (Vogue). I really wished I has upgraded to a full day. Ended up spending the whole morning in a Vogue SE TDV8 and it was this experience that pursuaded me to ditch the 4.4 V8 in favour of my current TDV8 RRS (torque and Brembos really persuaded me).

I couldn't get over the angles that these things can drive at!! Rolling with laughter Bow down Big Cry

Have fun and take someone to share the experience! Thumbs Up

So, when you go on one of these days .... do you use your own car, or do you use one of theirs? Wouldn't want to scratch the paint on my baby. I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.
