Rear DVD screen replacement

Hello all

I bought a TDV6 a few months ago and am very happy with it. It has aftermarket rear DVD screens linked to a slimline PS2 under the rear seat with wireless controllers and headrests.

My problem is that you have to be sat about 4 inches from screen and square on to it to make it possible for you to see the display properly. They do not "swivel" so I cant adjust the viewing angle

Id like to replace these screens with new ones of better quality so they do the job properly - any ideas of whether this sounds possible or will I need to replace all wiring etc - there is no brand on the screen but the wiring has CKO on it.

Ideally Id like the genuine LR screens but would be unsure if the wiring would fit it, although I would be equally happy for another aftermarket set - anyone know whether all screens have the same sort of univesal inputs or are they all different?

Also (sorry!) how do you get at the backs of the monitors to remove them? Havent a clue where to start to remove them

THank you in advance!!!

Paul

I have just had a PS3 installed in my RRS with Alpine monitors in the rear.
I noticed a similar (but not quite so bad) problem so the installers are swapping my screens for tilting ones on Thursday.

I'll let you know how I get on, oh the company is in Nottingham, not sure how close you are to them.

I would definitely consider travelling to them if they did a good job - could you ask them if the inputs on these rear seat screens are "universal" - if it was easy to do I would buy the tilting ones myself and swap them myself

Anybody else got any experience on the removal/refitting of these screens, their inputs and how to physically get them out?

Thanks for your help Daz

Paul

I have the exact same problem. My 7yo has to sit on booster seats just to see the screen.

Mine are Necvox are something...they don't tilt, neither do the headrests.

I need this seen to as well. Does anyone know someone that could help me out up here with this?

TIA

They are still in the process of fitting my new monitors, long story but I needed the car before they could finish the instalation of the new screens.

They have got one working and it does seem much better, but the head rest needs a little reconstruction since they had to cut so much out to alter the angle of the standard monitors.

I might try and get hold of a pair of new headrest bases to start again with the get a 100% finish.
