Slim - you can try it out on your own car without any modifications................................ find a poorly maintained stretch of road and lower the car to access height and keep the button pressed until you hear the chime, it is then locked in access height and will not automatically rise (this is designed into the system by LR for use in multistorey carparks with low ceilings.) It will give you a pretty good idea of what it will be like if you have it permanently lowered.

I've had a lowering module fitted and it still rides pretty much as smooth as every other Sport I've been in... |

A lowering module does not lower the car to the access height, hence its still driveable.

I've not tried it, just asking the question and debating wether or not to go down the route of lowering the car.... given what I've been reading, I think I'll give it a miss
