Which car maker is about to collapse?

All morning R4 News has been playing a tape of Union leader Tony Woodley spouting that he has 6000 members about to loose their jobs and one car plant about to close for good.......................... GM has just abandoned Saab to file for bankrupcy today as well, so who might the UK company be - Vauxhall/ Aston Martin/Bentley/ JLR/ Honda/Rolls Royce/ BMW-Mini/ Ford/Nissan or Toybota/LDF? If one car maker goes, however many component makers are going to collapse as a result too

I reckon it might be Vauxhall as GM are really in dire straits at the moment and we British employees in the Uk are the easiest and cheapest in the whole EU to dump. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I'm guessing Vauxhall too.

Rumours around closure of the Ellesmere Port plant in the NW have been rife for years. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

I would have thought that given most of the car manufacturers are struggling at present, and that the market for new 4x4s is dead, its not BS. As Landrover only make 4x4s I dont think its unreasonable to assume that at some point they will hit problems. If at present no one wants your product, for how long can they stay in buisness? Skynews has an article on the future of Landrover on its website.

Angel is right - total BS. The market may be dead in some places , but some of us have no choice - we need a 4x4. The local LR dealer has a long waiting list.

450 out of 15,000 does not make an implosion, and to be honest none of us should wish it on the last of a few manufacturers making something that still is recognisable as British Whistle ... like a good Curry Laughing The alternative is OZ will be over-run by Land Cruisers and Patrols.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
