France 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Tonga Green
yacht owners only!

Design made by two famous naval architect, BANNENBERG and HEYWOOD for the MONACO yacht show.

Let’s say you decide to go shopping at the Monaco Yacht Show next month. And let’s say you plunk down $50 million for a 250-foot tri-decker designed by Terence Disdale. Wouldn’t your next thought would logically be: “I need a Range Rover to go with that!”

Now you are in luck. The client-friendly folks at Edmiston, the global yacht brokerage and sales company, have come up with a program to have yacht designers create megayacht-inspired versions of the Range Rover sport-utility vehicle. It is the ultimate luxury mash-up–”pimp my ride” for the Portofino crowd.

As part of a partnership between the two companies, Edmiston created the Edmiston Superyacht Range Rover Competition. Seven leading yacht designers submitted designs: Andrew Winch, Martin Francis, Terence Disdale, Ken Freivokh, Dickie Bannenberg, Tim Heywood and Redman Whitely Dixon.

The sketches will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show next month and a winner will be chosen Sept. 25th. Customers can order an actual model, for a mere €200,000 to €800,000, or nearly $300,000 to $1.2 million. While that may sound pricey, Edmiston points out that it is a bargain compared with the typical megayacht tender.

The nautically inspired Range Rovers are also fuel efficient–at least compared with megayachts.

So which one is the coolest? I’m partial to the Disdale and Bannenberg models. Mr. Disdale created a convertible to become what he calls the “St. Tropez Al Fresco tender,” with giant white water-proof seats and a luggage compartment tucked beneath a teak cover.

The Bannenberg model has an entire rear deck, complete with a sun tent, custom-molded chaise lounge and champagne holders–ideal for those tailgating parties on the Avenue of Princess Grace.

What do you think Wealth Report readers? Which design should get the prize?

I guess they will be sold at HARRODS..... after Mr AL FAYED has bought a couple of them for his yacht!!

even the supercharged Question Wink

A mate of mine has a nice yacht which is nowhere near to a megayacht and it drinks about 600 litres per hour in cruising speed (ca. 30 knots) which is an equivalent of about 0.22 mpg. Shocked
I think compared to this the supercharged FFRR will be very fuel efficient! Thumbs Up Laughing
Althoug I'm pretty sure you CAN get this out of a RR SC! Wink

If you want a beautiful yacht and a beautiful car, then please buy a FFRR and a yacht, don't mix it up! Rolling Eyes Wink RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink
