Ultimate OEM accessories: mud flaps or not?

-personally i never go off roading but i still think the mud flaps make the RRS look wider and meaner

-side steps (running boards) are a must they protect from annoying door to door bumps in the paint

-not sure about the light frame protectors what do they serve as?

what do u think guys!

also 20'' stormers or standard supercharged wheels?

Mud flaps do look good, but as you rightly point out - you would need to remove them as soon as you went off tarmac. Side steps also do look good as long as you get a decent set and not Censored ones like certain other people with no hair Whistle Light guards generally pointless and a nightmare to clean around.

Stormers look good but everyone seems to go for them these days.... no reason not to get them though if you like them Thumbs Up

BB I bought 22" aftermarkets then changed back.....best option IMHO is 20" OEM wheels with black centre caps....I have one black centre cap for sale if you want.....( Laughing joking cowey)

Regarding colour coding I used to think it looked good....then I got it done and cant believe I waited so long....makes such a difference! Just mirrors down though.....dont touch the pillars!

My car is silver though and is colour coding more apparent on lighter colours.....still improves any colour.

Thumbs Up

no way im going for 22'' roads are crap here anyway

otherwise my color is buckingham blue so color coding should look good but its such a hassle and im worried about finishing we'll see...

im thinking either the OEM standard supercharged wheels or the 20'' stormer wheels!
what do u think guys!

Mud flaps are perfectly fine to leave on while offroading, unless you are going thru piles and piles of deep mud. I've yet to have one rip off in our expeditions...and you're right, they add a nice look.

Running boards on the other hand will definitely need to be removed for any medium offroading...but it sounds like you are getting these items mostly for looks anyway, not function, so no worries.

JE exhaust sounds good...I wonder if one of you chaps could post a sound clip one day so we can compare it to our Borla...

Color coding - door handles, side vents, rear grey strip on the rear gate...all good...don't forget smoked side indicators/markers as well.

Are you saying Wheels to be color coded...some guys have done that??? PJPR

color coding for wheels is great for black i would definitely go for it
but my car is buckingham blue! i do have a friend with a white cayenne GTS (best exhaust sound ever btw) whose painted his wheels white and it does look special !

Send a note of your borla exhuast, why would you fit it it seems from your pic that you hardcore offroad! haha at last an RRS being used off road!

i listened to a LARINI exhaust and it does sound phenomenal i love it but too expensive

Interesting...the Larini has 2 mufflers, the Borla only has one. They are both made of T304 Stainless steel, the Borla has a 1 Million mile warranty, I'm sure Larini has a good one as well. Price for the Larini is 2 x Borla...but most everything in the UK is when converted back to USD, so probably they are equivalent landed in the UK, not sure how much in Lebanon. In the US it costs about $900 USD, so maybe factor in a bit for shipping, and then any import duties??

I believe we have a member on Rangerovers.net who has a Buck Blue with color matched wheels as well...

True that it goes offroad a lot, but once cleaned up, wheels changed back from 18's to 20's, roof rack off, it's back to its on road personality again, and the exhaust is perfect for both...no problems at all even when climbing rocks...

Will see if I can find a clip of the Borla... PJPR

Here are a few pictures of the Buckingham Blue on Redbourne Duke wheels. By coincidence, we both have these same wheels, his are color coded, mine are silver.

If you're interested in getting information on the Borla from the U.S., contact member Jazejeff on the rangerovers.net site. He could give you the information you need...don't think he has yet shipped to Lebanon, but there's always a first. PJPR

Buckblue,

If the roads are that bad you might be better off with 19" wheels and more rubber. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
