VMax event - basically the top speed of your 4x4 t'bred!!

Having done the Brands Hatch twists and turns and knowing that we won't ALL get on the LR track days,, I have delved somewhat into the straight line "safest" way of testing our Solihull thoroughbreds!! Very Happy

It goes something like this: Track is booked out for the day (through http://www.vmax15000bhp.com/), we all turn up and see what the fastest straight line speed is, simple!! Shocked

Effectively, the track is approx. 2 miles long and is a complete straight line (i.e. runway), there is the opportunity of doing the set out track for the more adventurous, but if like me you would just like to have a go at hitting the top end with plenty of run off, then the straight liner is just for you. You get 20+ runs!!! Thumbs Up

You don't need a helmet, but if you would feel safer, then they are about £50 from your local 2 wheeler centre.

Details from previous events are on the site shown above. There is a link to the Pistonheads website that contains a lot of information in relation to the VMax events. You will see a sticky at the top marked "VMax Typhoon" which is where you can get more information. If you would like to attend, you need to contact CraigW through his profile.

It seems there is no set date yet, but registration is a must if you would like to attend.

Costs: £175 per entry.

If it makes it easier, I have added a sign up and can register your details for you - as to make it a rrsport forum event. Razz PM with your details when confirmed.

Finally - if you would prefer to take something else, i.e. non-finest, then they are also welcome!! Whistle My Gladiators:

Maxed out the TDV8 a couple of times on the autobahn, it will sit there at 215km/h all day no muss no fuss, perfectly stable and very smooth. Sons of dogs come eat flesh

Jay your RRS should be able to tow a trailer with the van on it no problem if you are thinking of maxing that out. I know that your not interested in blowing up those fragile AMG and Alpina engines in the other two cars on your drive..................................... although if you could find a two car transporter trailer the RRS would tow them easily at the same time (well maybe not the Alpina, it's a bit porky with all those toys on iy) Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Wili, as I would have to drive home to Scotland afterwards I'm not too keen to risk my RRS on this but do they allow spectators? A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

I assume so. You could always hop into someone elses car as a passenger and view it from the slightly browned seat instead?! My Gladiators:
