Damn warning pinger !!! how the hell can I deactivate it ?.

Ok....here's the dilema, Thanks to you guys I have now deactivated the seatbelt warning pinger, BUT.......that doesn't stop it pinging at me when the suspension height is changed or the keys are put in the ignition or the lights are on or I simply look at a pretty girl when my wife's in the front seat .....well......you get the picture.

I DON'T NEED TO BE TOLD THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN I'VE JUST OPENED IT !!!!!!!!!!

Someone must know how to turn this bloody thing off......PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I DO SOMETHING TO MY CAR I WILL REGRET. Apart from that, I love my Rangey it has to be said 08 TDV6 stornaway alpaca Chipped overfinch tiger & happy !

I Like the Hammer idea Thumbs Up Sounds like a plan. it seems that reading all the forums tell me that a lot of other RRS owners feel the same way...COME ON LANDROVER.......LISTEN TO YOUR BUYERS

I realise the warning tone is there for a reason & also how complex it's integration is, if you indicate & remove your seat belt, the warning bong cancels out the indicator click, then when the 7 bong cycle finishes, the indicator click continues.....hhmmmm. It does sound like pulling the dash off & stuffing blue tack in the little speaker is the only answer. Perhaps I'll try that with my wife first & see if it has the desired effect before I tamper with my Rangey 08 TDV6 stornaway alpaca Chipped overfinch tiger & happy !

Well, As you will probably know, Proper Aussies are the black fella's that still live under trees so the answer to your question is no. The 4x4 market is a tough one over here, most are die hard Landcruiser fanatics, probably because if you break down in the middle of the bush, your more likely to find someone with a Landcruiser near by than a RRS.........idiots I say ! Mind you....I did blow my turbo the first day !...so maybe they're the smart ones .......I'll say no more 08 TDV6 stornaway alpaca Chipped overfinch tiger & happy !

Seatbelt warning Pinger !!!!! 2008 model solution found

Very Happy OK, everyone, my 2008 RRS, like all other had (Emphasis on the HAD !) the warning ping when you took the seatbelt off for reversing etc, I tried the techniques listed here but they just didn't work.......Enter the friendly dealership who, quite surprisingly enough, offered to silence it for me at no charge........ Very Happy Smile Laughing

Just though I would let you all know, Pre 2008 you can do yourself, 2008 on, your dealer can disarm using their computer thingy !!! yippee, I'm now silent & loving it 08 TDV6 stornaway alpaca Chipped overfinch tiger & happy !

So are you saying the in/out method doesn't work for 2008+ and only the dealer can do it?

Yes that's correct, the trouble I found was in all the other posts, they said to sit in the car, ignition on etc etc & eventually the red man would disappear & you could then do your in/out.....stuff, well, according to the dealer who I discussed this with (after trying several time) said........totaly new computer set-up in the 2008 model, more flexibility to personalise....to a degree & a few glitches rectified (like the ability to disable the seatbelt warning on your own......he said ! but he was more than happy to disable it ....at no charge !!!! unheard of I thought, Mind you, it was in for it's first service so I was still paying him....in other ways. 08 TDV6 stornaway alpaca Chipped overfinch tiger & happy !
