Disco 3 to Freeloader???

With some concern with the amount of miles I have racked up in the Disco 3, I am 24 hrs away from trading it in for a Freeloader with the intent to keep until the LRX is released.

Deal is pretty good, albeit stealer still making about £3k on my car. Does this seem a good deal guys, I think so, but need the final push:

Current: Disco 3 SE 06 plate with 19 inchers, Auto, 39k miles, usual interior, silver, chrome side bars: Bought for £27500 in Jun 07 - Trade in price £22500 Apr 08. Shocked

Freelander 2 SE Td4 - 57 plate - 17 inchers, 8k miles, Manual, full leather (an extra) and, well thats it really......asking £24000. Shocked

Due to do the deal on Monday, however, I am thinking £24k is a lot for what is the entry level LR family member.......they have an S TDV6 Disco 3 06 plate, Manual Shocked Shocked 11k miles, at £19k which to me, albeit without ANY creature comforts, seems to make better sense?? Idea Whistle

Comments??? Very Happy L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

I don't class the FL2 as a entry level to the LR family Confused

Its a smaller car, in a class that the D3 or RRS don't fill (or over fill), but Boolia has just bought one after having to lose the RRS and she has said she loves it.

If you are thinking that you obviously have a reservation about spending £24K on the car in question, I think this could always be in the back of your mind.

If that is the case, rule it out.

Again if your looking for space the S TDV6 sounds a good deal at £19K

edited due to misreading your post thinking you was offered the SE aswell Embarassed

Having got both in HSE I would say think carefully what you want. If you don't need the space (particularly boot space) and want a nippier car that is needed to do really tough off road work then the Fl2 makes great sense. I can't comment on prices because I haven't the foggiest and always loose out in the same way!! Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

It is... and a friend of ours has a manual TD4 and thinks the manual box is very tiresome (not simply because they are lazy, but because it doesn't seem to be too well mated to the engine). I've also always thought that the FL2 is a bit expensive... especially when compared with the FL1.

I'd agree with npinks, if you are thinking the deal isn't great value now then it's quite possible you'll always look back to this day and think the same... James might be able to sort you a better deal, or at least maybe get you into a higher spec car for a similar price.

Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Disco 3-less now Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

On the plus side, just been out for a spin in the Freeloader 2 and to be fair, it is fairly impressive Shocked Shocked Far nimbler than the hulking D3 (obviously) and drives incredibly well sticking to the road like glue. All in all, it has taken the sting out of the loss of the D3 for that sole trait......it is very, very, very good indeed. Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Went for Silver WITH black side door bits and mudflaps, it broke the car up and gave it a better stance.

Going to get some chrome caps for the mirrors and some chrome side bars. Thumbs Up Add some Bling!! L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
