24,000 mile service

So, had the RRS serviced today and here is a breakdown of what they did and how much it cost in Euros (GBP):

Labour:

Service 71.76 (£55.20)
Replace front brake pads 28.70 (22.07)

Items:

ELEMENT - Oil cooler 8.99 (£6.92)
ELEMENT ASY - Air Cleaner 16.93 (£13.02)
Front Pads 55.21 (£42.50)
WIRINGS (???) 16.32 (£12.55)
BRAKE CLEANER 4.77 (£3.67)
Screenwash 3.26 (£2.51)
Front wiper blades 38.46 (£29.58 for 2 f Censored g wiper blades!)
FILTER ASSY - Fuel 59.12 (£45.4Cool
Engine oil 69.37 (£53.36 F Censored g hell!!!)

Add in VAT @ 15% over here and total bill came to 428.82 Euros (£329.86)

How does this sound compared to UK servicing costs/parts prices?

Sounds f Censored g expensive to me.

On par i think , well at least at the cheaper ender of our prices. Seen a lot worse, i think the wirings that you refer too are the brake sensor cables.

The wiper blades are amazing! Finally, quiet wipers! Bow down

They were the original set and lasted 24,000 miles. The clearing quality of them were still fine, just couldn't stand the noise anymore! Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

I was quoted over £400 to replace both front and rear brake pads a couple of months ago, so it sounds like a bargain to me Super.

My second service is due in the next couple of weeks, so need to start phoning round for quotes. If I get below £300 I think I'll be doing well. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

No, about right... services can go upwards of £500-odd if you choose the wrong dealer.

Had the poxymobile serviced yesterday and BMW dealers are all doing the same in terms of random pricing. Ended up costing me £245 but quotes ranged up to £400 for the same service. Rolling Eyes Got a brand new 1er as a loan car yesterday - 08 plate, 17 miles on it. Solid motor, liked it actually Thumbs Up

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

It's the same at most dealer's service bays ST - I for the life of me cannot understand when they know how long a job takes they cannot work a system like a doctor's surgery or a dentist. If a service takes X hours then why can they not say OK bring your car in at 9am and it will be ready at 9+Xhrs, but oh no that is far to difficult and you loose the car for the whole day or even 2 days. Strikes me that while LR says a job will take say 2 hours, and that is what you get charged on, in fact the service bays struggle to meet those times. Some marques can do it, around here my nieghbour takes her little Toyota Avensis in and it can be serviced while she waits.................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Very similar to the prices quoted in OZ, 900 Australian, which is about 414 of HM's finest. I left it for 2-3 months, and they ended up doing them for 500 a few months later (they must of forgot the original quote) which is a mere 230 GB Pounds Shocked .. maybe time to haggle with them TB Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
