Handbrake stayed on! Overheated a rear disc!

Hi,

I did a search but didnt find any other posts with this problem, Last night, on my way home, the car started to judder violently and when I stopped I noticed one of the rear wheels was very hot. anyway, land rover assist took the car over to the supplying dealer and even though it is now unblocked, for safety they prefere to strip it down and check. Big Cry

Anybody else had a similar problem?

Shame as I was supposed to drive down to the south of france tonight with it. I will have to put the KMs on the BMW then.

Handbrake stayed on! Overheated a rear disc!

Hi Sacha,

I had this problem already twice. The first time it happens after 5.000 km and the second time at 13.000 km. Both times it was the right rear wheel. All the pieces had been changed by the local LR dealer without any objections. (the pieces had changed colour due to high temperature)
It always happened after I leave the highway and after driving with a certain speed.
I hope it will not arrive a third time.

Alex
