Germany 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hi,

I was again at my dealer regarding the DR knocking.
They told me that the water knocking sound is normal..... Mad
They have spoken already with the technical department of LR that many TDV8 & supercharged owners are complaining....
But it is normal....

But to be safe my dealer also checked everything like anti-roll bar & all bushes and so on. Here is everything fine and updated. Because it is a 08.05 model. There are may be changes between 08 models and 08.05 models I think....

So I have to live and drive with the DR knocking on a brand new car..... Big Cry ---------------------------------------------------------

I've had my anti-roll bar bushes replaced twice in two years. The latest was in December 2007 and its knocking again already!

I think I'll be buying a German car next time - now where is my nearest Non-Stratstone) BMW dealer ! If you drive it - it will rattle, clunk and knock (for what seems to be no reason whatsoever) !

If you are thinking of buying a RR Sport, read this forum very carefully first !

Perhaps we should have a meet of affected cars, so that we can experience each others LR diagnosis to see if in fact they are all the same or indeed different. MY08 RRS TDV8 HSE, Stornoway Grey, Ebony and Zabrano, sunroof, hybrid tv, premium ICE, rear E diff, privacy glass, side steps, mud flaps, S/Grey mirror covers, Venture shield, tasmods, smoked indicators, Larini sports exhaust, etc, etc.

Fixed at 4000 miles....

... back with a vengance at 6100 miles.....

So much for the roll bar bushes! I'm off (see my other posts) back to BMW and an ex-demo X5 3.0d M Sport...

Bye all... it's been... interesting... 2007 HSE TDV6, Java/Black, banging suspension (fixed and back again), rattling rear headrests, nasty, nasty turbo lag.... - Traded in for BMW X5...

I don't believe this is the case in all markets. My 2008 TDV6 did not come with Dynamic Response, it's an optional extra down under (at least was when I purchased in Oct 07). It is though, i understand, standard on the TDV8 down under. 2008 WHITE TDV6

Sorry. We Brits tend to forget the specs are different in other countries. Therefore you are quite correct, this does only apply to the UK specs. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

I recently changed my TDV6 for a TDV8 in December as I could not accept the turbo lag and suspension noise. Now after 3000 miles in the TDV8 the suspension noise is worse than in the previous vehicle.

Whilst my dealer was helpful and changed the relevant bushes to minimise noise in the TDV6 he will not take any action with the new vehicle, he merely hides behind the LR directive stating the noise is inherant.

When I point to the number of complaints logged on this forum he comments that in the greater scale of things the number of complaints is so small LR will not take any action.

I have written to LR customer care and am awaiting a response but do not expect to get any where.

How many readers have sent a formal letter of complaint to LR?

Most of my day to day driving is on rural roads where the suspension noise in continuous, I always assumed this was a typical enviroment for the Range Rover.

I am stuck with a £50,000+ vehicle which I find intolerable to drive and can get no dealer assistance.

I really feel the only way we can get any satisfaction is by complaint in numbers, anyone up for it?[/b]

The car has a fault - be it design or manufacturing - if your getting no more help from anyone I'd look into rejecting the car. Get legal advice and just reject it - clearly the car is not right and LR's/Dealers comment of its inherent is not valid as not all cars have the problem (mine never made any knocks after 16k miles)
