What's the recommedded place for the first service - LR Dealer or local garage?

Personally, I wouldn't muck about on your first service. Take it back to a LR dealer and get it done there - service costs from a dealer vary wildly between about £300-500 so it pays to shop around anyway. That said, there's nothing to say that an independent can't service your car, but I'd want them to be familiar with the RRS and it's workings. I certainly wouldn't be taking it to your local grease monkey simply because he only charges £25/hour labour.

Agreed. The RRS is a feature rich v complicated machine. Some faults a Land Rover dealer isn't able to fix 1st time around. Every fault seems to be fixed with a software upgrade too. Even the knocking noise. Mental. Imagine get that fixed somewhere that didn't have the LR software.....

£150 is £150 I don't think it matters if you paid £55K for a car, value for money is what counts here whether it's your personal cash or business. Speed Limits! not where I live!
